If you want to experience the Southern Highlands with the most experienced guides in the region, then look no further. We provide door to door service, all meals and gear. All you need is good boots or shoes and personal clothing. We take care of the rest. John has hiked and climbed throughout the world, recently reaching the summit of Denali in June of 2007. He has more experience in the Smokies than any of the other startup guide services. He recently completed the last of the 900 miles of trail in the National Park and has experience with most all backcountry sites and fisheries within the area. Most guide services only stay within the Smokies. Much of the good hiking can be found in outlying areas such as Joyce Kilmer, Big South Fork, Cumberland Gap and Frozen Head. That is where our experience holds the edge over the competition. It is said that the SouthernHighlanders have done more off trail routes in the Smokies than others are willing to try. We aren't sure, but it is nice to get off the beaten path sometimes.

Groups and Families can expect a discount, of course.
Interested in a trail or campsite, just email me for a custom quote. We have done multi day to single overnight trips for folks who just want to try wetting their feet in the mountains.
