Here is the schedule for the Labor Day Hike. If you would please put it on the
website. Not like anyone is going to walk that kind of mileage, but what the
hay. Thursday Aug. 28th - Night hike to campsite 90. Friday Aug. 29th - Pirate
camp in a secret location somewhere at the head of Eagle Creek. Saturday Aug
30th - Campsite 83 or 84, either one. Sunday Aug 31st - Pirate camp at the old
Cascades campsite toward the head of Eagle (I
think he means Hazel here, Q) Creek. Monday Sept 1st - Exit down
Jonas Creek / Forney Creek to trail head at Lakeview drive. Shuttle services
have been booked with The Hike Inn for four people. Any additions will need to
arrange their way out. Shuttle is to take us from Bryson City to Fontana Dam
Monday around 5:00 PM.
I have reservations for eight people Friday the 29th at Spence Field shelter, in
case we want to duck in out of a storm. I have reservations Saturday the 30th at
campsite 83 for eight. It is supposed to be the nicest on Hazel Creek but has
horses. Number 84 is smaller but has no horses. The old Cascades campsite at the
head of Hazel Creek is off my Dad's old maps.
