Encyclopedia Britannica Online
Don't worry if your article is not in the "middle school" section.
Encyclopedia Americana
Only for those researching landforms in the USA.
Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia
Especially good for images.
SIRS Discoverer
Look for the link to "County Facts" in the lower right.

BOOKS
  • Use the catalog to locate books about the country where you landform is located (South America) or about the landform you've selected in general (atoll, island, volcano, reef), and not the landform itself.
  • Go to Destiny, the library's online catalog, and enter your search word in lower case. If your country name is two words, put it in quotation marks:
          france       "west indies"
          volcano       ocean
          "mt. everest"
  • Make sure you click on the button for "Keyword" -- don't use the Enter button on your keyboard!

  • Call numbers beginning with J are in the Lower School Library.

NOODLEBIB
  1. Set up a personal account for yourself in NoodleTools.
  2. Select NoodleBib for the Works Cited template.
  3. You are going to use the MLA Starter option, so when you get to this page:

    select this option:

  4. The title of the next screen is Works Cited. If you are using a library resource, either a book that you can hold in your hands or an article that you found in a subscription database, then you MUST select an option from the highlighted part of the drop-down menu:

Then, on the screen that follows, you can select "Print" if it is a book or periodical that you are holding in your hands, or "Online" if it is digitized content from a book or periodical that you accessed with a web browser:

The remaining screens are intuitive and straightforward.
