Process, Philosophy and Practice
Using techniques of touch, breath, awareness, dialogue and movement, we can become aware of the interface between our external circumstances and our internal story. The body reveals inner states. For example, maybe we get very nervous or tense in stressful situations or are plagued by negative “self-talk.” By attending to sensations in the body and thoughts in the mind, the connection between muscle tension, pain, and our limiting patterns becomes clear. How our bodies and our thoughts can limit our possibilities in the world is revealed. The strategies we created to survive, and even thrive, were essential in the past, but may, in the present, keep us from being our fullest potential selves and from fully feeling alive.
Comprehensive bodywork can begin to make distinctions between what is living in reaction to our history and what is present centered response to the here and now.
From a place of awareness and genuine compassion and acceptance of ourselves, we can begin to design new goals and embody new visions that will lead to our being more content and doing more powerful work in the world.
